Woody’s Wharf

I spent this past weekend in the Orange County area. The weather was perfect, as it usually is in Southern California, so we ventured to one of their favorite restaurants for brunch.

We drove through beautiful Newport Beach and arrived at lively Woody’s Wharf. There was a short wait but we were entertained by their “resident” Magician who showed us some awesome tricks.

We were seated right by the water, overlooking the docked yachts. We took advantage of Woody’s Champagne Brunch by beginning with bottomless mimosas and an order of the Bang Bang Shrimp.

The crispy breaded shrimp was served with their “bang bang” sauce which was slightly spicy, slightly tangy.

After a few mimosas our main meals were delivered to our table.

My friend got the Lump Crab Benedict, which featured a fresh lump crab cake  and sautéed spinach with two poached eggs and hollandaise.

Another friend ordered the Cali Omelet. It was filled with applewood smoked bacon crumbles, sautéed mushrooms, tomatoes, Monterey Jack Cheese, and topped with sliced avocado.

I ordered the Spicy Puerto Nuevo Lobster Omelet. I was immediately attracted to it because I had never had a lobster Omelet and I knew it would be delicious because we were right by the ocean. I’m glad I took a chance because it was amazing!

It was amazing. It had lobster, spicy chorizo, and cheese. The flavor reminded me of Cajun spices!

My friends tried some and loved it. They went back for a second bite. I must admit, I am usually a fast eater, but for this dish I slowed down and enjoyed every single bite / flavor.

We all were given a cup of fresh fruit and a serving of deliciously seasoned home-style potatoes.

We finished our meals and then enjoyed our bottomless mimosas while basking in the sun.

I had a wonderful time at Woody’s Wharf. It’s a beautiful restaurant on the water with a relaxing atmosphere and friendly people. I would definitely return!

XOXO,

The New Brunch Queen
